Lukas Podolski may exit Arsenal Soon

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015

Lukas Podolski is a player that has barely played any matches for Arsenal in this season and the future of the German attacker is constantly being linked away from Arsenal due to his lack of playing time.

At 29, Podolski is reaching an age where it’s time to start considering where to spend the remaining seasons and years of what is left in his career and it does not seem like Arsenal would be an ideal place as he is mostly just being used as a substitute player.

The German forward said that he has intentions of speaking with Arsene Wenger and getting informed about the current situation of the team and if to whether or not he will be playing any important role for Arsenal within the next few weeks or months.

“I am not 20 or 21 years old and satisfied to wait for a chance, I am 29. I want to play, play, play! What can I do that I’m not already doing? I played in the starting XI in the Champions League and scored two goals, but then I was back on the bench for the 4-1 win over Newcastle. I don’t know what more I can do to convince the coach.” Podolski said.

The main problem that Lukas Podolski will be facing if he remains with Arsenal for one or two more seasons is that Arsene Wenger already has a number of offensive players at his disposal including: Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez, Yaya Sanogo, Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

With all of those offensive players competing for a place in the starting lineup of Arsene Wenger, it will be very difficult for Podolski to turn into a consistent player in Arsenal as he will have to start scoring goals regularly in order to secure his spot and avoid getting dropped to the bench which is what the German is experiencing mostly at the moment.

Arsene Wenger expect Chelsea to win Premier League

Saturday, December 13th, 2014

The Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is of the view that Chelsea would clinch the Premier League title this season unless they lose form drastically midway through their campaign.

Chelsea has not suffered defeat against any side so far in the 2014-15 Premier League.

According to Wenger, no team seems to be capable enough at the moment to displace Chelsea from the top position in the table.

Wenger was in conversation with the media persons the other day after his team suffered a loss against Swansea City.

When asked why he thinks the Blues have performed so much better than the other teams this season, the Frenchman said, “Nothing specific. It’s just that they have been able to gain some good momentum early on in the season and they are carrying it forward.”

“Honestly speaking, at this point of time it looks as if they are going to get to the three figure mark in terms of points and if they do that, they would surely become the champions. I can’t see any side stopping them from doing that if they don’t lose the plot suddenly.”

When asked to put some light on the performances of the Gunners especially during the last week in which they played draw against Anderlecht and then, lost to Swansea, Wenger said, “I am disappointed really. In both the games, we were leading. In fact, we had a huge lead in that Anderlecht game, but, we could not get three points. However, that’s what happens in sports if you are not consistent enough with your work. We have to admit that we haven’t played good football for the entire duration of the last two games.”

The Gunners are standing 6th in the league table with only 4 wins and 5 draws in 11 games.

Arsenal Signs Keto

Tuesday, July 8th, 2014

Arsenal has signed a shot stopper in the form of Hugo Keto. He belongs to Finland and is only 18 years of age right now.

He is not expected to feature for the first team of Gunners in the upcoming season though. The Arsenal management would definitely like him to make appearances for the youth side for a couple of seasons before they try him at the league stage.

The Gunners were in competition with the Reds to secure the services of Keto. Both the clubs had the player on trial for a short period of time and both were ready to sign him up.

Therefore, the player himself had to make the decision which club he wanted to play for and he eventually opted for Arsenal.

Keto is a fantastically built goalie with a height of more than 6 feet. The Arsenal scouts were believed to be very impressed having seen him play in Finland.

Liverpool was actually expected to leave Arsenal behind in this deal. Keto has been a fan of the Reds since his boyhood days and thus, he was supposed to make his way to Anfield, but, it wasn’t to be. The teenager decided to go to Emirates for some reason.

Some of the Arsenal supporters were not happy with the fact that the manager Arsene Wenger is currently working as an expert in Brazil and not focussing on transfer activities properly. Now, they would be slightly happy that a promising, young goalkeeper has been brought in. There have been reports that the works have been done on Alexis Sanchez deal as well.

Arsenal’s pre-season would start on 19th of this month when they take on Boreham Wood. Thereafter, they will travel to the United States of America to face New York Red Bulls in a friendly fixture.
