Arsene Wenger expect Chelsea to win Premier League

The Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is of the view that Chelsea would clinch the Premier League title this season unless they lose form drastically midway through their campaign.

Chelsea has not suffered defeat against any side so far in the 2014-15 Premier League.

According to Wenger, no team seems to be capable enough at the moment to displace Chelsea from the top position in the table.

Wenger was in conversation with the media persons the other day after his team suffered a loss against Swansea City.

When asked why he thinks the Blues have performed so much better than the other teams this season, the Frenchman said, “Nothing specific. It’s just that they have been able to gain some good momentum early on in the season and they are carrying it forward.”

“Honestly speaking, at this point of time it looks as if they are going to get to the three figure mark in terms of points and if they do that, they would surely become the champions. I can’t see any side stopping them from doing that if they don’t lose the plot suddenly.”

When asked to put some light on the performances of the Gunners especially during the last week in which they played draw against Anderlecht and then, lost to Swansea, Wenger said, “I am disappointed really. In both the games, we were leading. In fact, we had a huge lead in that Anderlecht game, but, we could not get three points. However, that’s what happens in sports if you are not consistent enough with your work. We have to admit that we haven’t played good football for the entire duration of the last two games.”

The Gunners are standing 6th in the league table with only 4 wins and 5 draws in 11 games.
