But after the Euro Cup 2012, Persie had shocked everyone by announcing that he doesn’t want to continue playing for Arsenal. No one had expected Persie to leave the club all of a sudden. According to the reports, Persie didn’t have a good tuning with Arsene Wenger, the manager of the club. This is the main reason behind Persie’s decision of leaving the club.

Persie had been playing for Arsenal since the last 8 years. He joined Arsenal way back in 2004. Persie played his first match for Arsenal against Manchester United in a match of the FA Community Shield. When Persie joined the club, he was a left winger. But, Arsene Wenger converted him into a striker. After the exit of Cesc Fabregas from the club, Persie was appointed as the captain of the team in the last season. Persie led the team from the front and the last season was the most successful season of his career. Persie scored 132 goals for Arsenal in 8 seasons.

Apart from Manchester United, some other big clubs like Juventus and Manchester City had also shown interest in the Dutch striker, but, Manchester United won the race at the end. Alex Ferguson said that Persie is a great player and he is at the peak of his career at the moment. He is a very good buy for the club.
